Here is one of these rather odd surveys that goo Ranking is apt to do, a look (oo-err!) at when in a changing room with female friends, what aspect of their underwear can you not help being curious about. This question was for the women only.
Demographics
Over the 28th of February and 1st of March 2013 1,019 members of the goo Research monitor group completed a private internet-based questionnaire. 100.0% of the sample were female, 0.0% in their teens, 34.0% in their twenties, 33.3% in their thirties, 32.8% in their forties, 0.0% in their fifties, and 0.0% aged sixty or older. Note that the score in the results refers to the relative number of votes for each option, not a percentage of the total sample. This question was for the women only.
Here’s an interesting fact: in Japanese catalogues, the underwear models are almost exclusively white, western women. The reason is that if they are fellow Japanese, the women end up paying more attention to the model than the underwear.
Most of the high street underwear shops in Japan seem to feature designs that would be fitting for only either (a) a prostitute, or (b) a 14 year old girl.

For those of you coming to this thread with a dirty mind, please review the lack of a possessive apostrophe for “girls” and realise that this is merely a survey from iShare looking at purchasing underwear as gifts for not just Japanese women, but men too.
Demographics
Between the 30th of September and 5th of October 2009 562 members of the CLUB BBQ free email forwarding service completed a private internet-based questionnaire. 53.2% of the sample were male, 34.5% in their twenties, 33.3% in their thirties, and 32.2% in their forties.
I’ve peeked at Japanese knickers, once before, as it were.
My wife buys all my boxers, usually Hello Kitty and friends. Last time I had a health check at the office that required stripping down I realised I’d decided to wear my bright orange Snoopy Halloween ones that day!

I may be trying to outdo Tokyo Times for alliterative headlines, but I’ll not be challenging his collection of themed bras and panties. (Each word is a different link!) This is instead a photograph-free fact-filled serious survey into pantie purchasing (OK, you get the idea, back to normal!) conducted by iShare and reported through BlogCh.
Demographics
Between the 7th and 9th of May 2008 723 members of the iShare online monitor group completed a private internet-based questionnaire. 54.1% of the sample was male, 20.5% were in their twenties, 53.4% in their thirties, and 26.1% in their forties.
The lucky underwear in Q3, or as it’s known in Japanese, 勝負下着, shoubu shitagi, refers to underwear worn on the whole, I think, when going on dates (or just going out) in the hope of getting lucky.
I’m not really sure about the 1.0% of guys wearing T-backs in Q4, and I wonder if going commando is a significant percentage of the others in Q4 and Q5.
Most of mine are Hello Kitty and other cute character boxers, bought by the wife, if you must know!
