This seems silly to me. The information offered is worthless.

I think it would be worthwhile for the data to be split up in various ways. For example, they could have split the data by age group. In particular, I feel that since 30% of the participants were 50 or older, maybe retirement has something to do with the results. Furthermore, why not make a separate group for the average retirement age and above instead of "50 or older"?

I think "when" and "where" would have also been good questions to ask. I mean, maybe people watch more TV because it's more easily accessible during their commutes. Maybe housewives are able to watch more TV because newer TVs are less obstructive allowing them to watch TV in rooms where it would have previously been an impossibility. Maybe the proliferation of smartphones in the hands of teens has allowed for more viewing time with that group.

Of course those are all wild guesses-- which is all this survey leaves us with! I hope the people funding this survey have all of that information and are putting it to good use.
