Nine in ten watching digital terrestrial television in Japan

Demographics
Between the 23rd and 26th of May 2011 1,099 members of the goo Research monitor group completed a private internet-based questionnaire. 53.1% of the sample were male, 16.4% in their teens, 18.2% in their twenties, 21.2% in their thirties, 16.3% in their forties, 15.7% in their fifties, and 12.3% aged sixty or older. Note that those in the Tohoku area were excluded from the survey.

Research results
Q1: Have you heard about the impending analogue television switch-off on the 24th of July this year? (Sample size=1,099)
Yes 97.4% No 2.6% Next, the complete sample was asked what kinds of broadcast television they watched at home. The top answer was terrestrial digital, at 89.0%, up over four percentage points since the last survey. Furthermore, 871 people, or 79.3% said that they were all ready for the digital switch-over.
