I have to say, between my wife and I we probably have upwards of 20+ point cards. It's ridiculous to be sure. I understand that these stores are trying to provide a service to keep you coming back, but I think I'd rather they just give some savings up front. I find it ironic how "eco" is such a buzzword when every single store is handing out paper/plastic point cards to every customer.

As for online points... I find it confusing. One day I have points, and the next day I don't. It's like they put a time limit on them. I wish they could just apply the collected points immediately to the cost of shipping. I find the time limit to be too short. I don't want to have to become an online shopping addict to "save" money through their point systems.

But that's not their goal-- they want to try to lure you with their point system while making inconvenient to use their points. All that ends up doing is making the customer feel the store is being a pain in the ass.

My wife and I probably only use fewer than 5 of all our point cards. Point cards: too much trouble.
