Just a thought, but one that might explain the current rise in popularity of the TV. There was a great rush to buy digital TVs before the April the 1st cut-off date for getting eco-points when buying a TV in many of the big chain shops. Possibly the new digital sets are holding viewers' attentions for the moment. And more likely, as the blur between the Internet and TV is widening (e.g. I can access the Internet from my new 40-incher), these new sets allow access to what was Internet territory for mundande tasks, like getting weather, local shopping and TV guide information. And I suppose that, for some, pressing a button on an otherwise on TV is easier than setting up the laptop just to get the same information.
