Favourite fetishes of Japanese men

Zettai Ryoiku - Absolute Area cellphone strapHere’s a survey that I really should have illustrated with some pictures, but digging around Google in Japanese almost every match I got was definitely not safe for work! Hopefully text only will pass any filters you might have in the office that could potentially block this survey from goo Ranking looking at men’s fetishes, in particular fetishes men would be less eager to talk about.

Demographics

Between the 21st and 24th of July 2009 1,026 members of the goo Research monitor group completed a private online questionnaire. 48.2% of the sample were male, 8.0% in their teens, 14.6% in their twenties, 28.8% in their thirties, 26.0% in their forties, 12.5% in their fifties, and 10.1% aged sixty or older. Note that the score in the results refers to the relative number of votes for each option, not a percentage of the total sample. Note that today’s question is for the men only, but the same question has been posed to the women.

Number 2, athletic thighs, is quite a rarity in Japan amongst young women, as usually it is the anorexic look that is in. I’m not really quite sure about wide foreheads, though…

      Droopy eyelids?

Also, I would have thought yaeba would have been on the list WAY ahead of droopy eyelids. Where’s yaeba?

Why do women have “turn-on’s” while men have “fetishes”?

Definitely smell I can understand. Every Japanese person I’ve smelled, smelled nice. And I’ve smelt a lot (no really).

I presume you’ve never ridden on a commuter train in the middle of summer then!

:D My experience is solely of Japanese people abroad. It’s likely that they make even more of an effort in Europe and the US to show up all of us sweating, cellulitic, relatively unhygienic Westerners. I wish I could say I wasn’t classed in those category….well, I’m very clean anyway! Hand sterilizer all the way.

Erm… No fetishes for women’s feet? Or for enemas and other related frolics? They seem to be VERY popular amongst Japanese online…

It just indicates very naturally pale, untanned skin, really.

Wdf? Small chests are ranked that low?

    9. December 31, 2009 @ 14:12

Most of those dont really sounds like fetishes to me. I would class most of them as turn-ons rather than fetishes.

I’d agree with you there! The Japanese use the word “Fetish” (actually “Fechi”) when they often just mean turn-on.

“Why do women have “turn-on’s” while men have “fetishes”?”

Men just like to misuse the word fetish more often because it sounds sexy. I assume it’s trying to mean the same thing in this context, but anyone who’s encountered someone with the clinical definition of a fetish would know what a drag it can be.

umm athletic thighs? i havent seen any since i have been here, i got some though;)
voices? if they are turned on by that high screetching then i am confused? baby voices on adult women is sad and annoying
smell, i have to say even though japanese people are not as scenty they can still stink (breath) and i have smelled many of yeast infections!!!!
firm upper arms? again i havent seen this just skinny flabby limbs and bodies. i have yet to see a toned woman in japan, just skinny.
broad shoulders??????? really??? then i must be a goddess then!! I have a toned body, small breast, and broad shoulders!!!

I didn’t know that Japanese women don’t get cellulite. So, allegedly they are every man’s dream because they are tiny, they don’t talk back because they still learn from society that the man’s the master, they don’t age as quickly as Caucasian women and now I’ve learned that they don’t even get cellulite. The perfect women. I’m wondering why Japan isn’t overcrowded with men from all over the world yet?

I think if you asked any single Japanese man above his thirties, they would say that it is already overcrowded with foreign men going after Japanese women :)
