Here’s a survey that I really should have illustrated with some pictures, but digging around Google in Japanese almost every match I got was definitely not safe for work! Hopefully text only will pass any filters you might have in the office that could potentially block this survey from goo Ranking looking at men’s fetishes, in particular fetishes men would be less eager to talk about.
Demographics
Between the 21st and 24th of July 2009 1,026 members of the goo Research monitor group completed a private online questionnaire. 48.2% of the sample were male, 8.0% in their teens, 14.6% in their twenties, 28.8% in their thirties, 26.0% in their forties, 12.5% in their fifties, and 10.1% aged sixty or older. Note that the score in the results refers to the relative number of votes for each option, not a percentage of the total sample. Note that today’s question is for the men only, but the same question has been posed to the women.
Number 2, athletic thighs, is quite a rarity in Japan amongst young women, as usually it is the anorexic look that is in. I’m not really quite sure about wide foreheads, though…

Why do women have “turn-on’s” while men have “fetishes”?

I’d agree with you there! The Japanese use the word “Fetish” (actually “Fechi”) when they often just mean turn-on.

Men just like to misuse the word fetish more often because it sounds sexy. I assume it’s trying to mean the same thing in this context, but anyone who’s encountered someone with the clinical definition of a fetish would know what a drag it can be.

I didn’t know that Japanese women don’t get cellulite. So, allegedly they are every man’s dream because they are tiny, they don’t talk back because they still learn from society that the man’s the master, they don’t age as quickly as Caucasian women and now I’ve learned that they don’t even get cellulite. The perfect women. I’m wondering why Japan isn’t overcrowded with men from all over the world yet?

Not all Japanese women are tiny.
Many Japanese women “talk back”, especially in private. They will tear you a new one like no other, they make other women look very kind in comparison.
They do not age better than other women. Every race has its weak points. Asians get gray hair and age spots with saggy skin/cheeks and eyebags much faster than White or Black people, for example. Asian women are always struggling to get rid of, or prevent age spots. Most White people don’t get age spots until they’re very old (70+), but Asians will get them in their late 30s.
There is no such thing as a perfect woman at all, anywhere.
Japan is not overcrowded with men because most people are aware of these basic facts and most men are more than happy to stay with the wonderful women in their own countries. There is no need to go to Japan for women, beautiful and good women are everywhere and Japan has very few people compared to most places.
This is not a list of fetishes at all. It’s a list of simple turn-ons.
A real fetish survey would include BDSM, Golden Showers, Exhibitionism, Bondage, Cross-dressing and all that other good stuff !
i believe it was mentioned somewhere that “fetish” is a not a normal/well known word in Japan. so it’s considered more of a turn on as apposed to a fetish. though some could say either or. at least in Japan.
