Disgusting.

I guess I wont be getting one as it is even more expensive than my worst dreams. I hope no one else does, and instead writes physical spam letters to Apple in California explaining how they have destroyed all chances of an iPhone success in Japan.

Hmm. That's around the figure I was expecting. I was expecting to be disappointed.

10,000 yen for unlimited data is going to be too expensive for many people. An iPhone without unlimited data of course really cripples the device.

My understanding is that the Softbank (and DoCoMo and AU) network is not built to handle huge volumes of data so they simple can't open up reasonably priced 3G data plans. Only EMOBILE can do that as they have a network built for data.

For reference I set up a community for people in Japan interested in the iPhone: www.iphoneinjapan.com
