I hope China enforce stricter laws on quality control. But I have to say that I eat chinese food all the time, some produced in US, some imported from China, I never had problem. I rather suspect that the only difference between Japanese and Chinese producers is how good they are at covering things up. And for Japanese manufacturers it seems to hit the high-end as much or more; I saw a report that mentioned that if all chicken being sold as premium Jidori was true, there would have to be more than ten times the actual number.
