Majority of movie-goers consult television and internet for movie information

Continuing on the movie theme, last week japan.internet.com published the results of research conducted by goo Research into cinema ticket buying habits. I would love to find a web site that allows you to buy tickets at a discount, but such a site doesn’t seem to exist. Does anyone know of a good one?
Demographics
1,064 members of goo Research’s online monitor group successfully completed a private internet-based questionnaire. 52.1% of the sample was male, 23.3% in their twenties, 22.3% in their thirties, 22.5% in their forties, 21.3% in their fifties, and 10.6% in their sixties.
It may be interesting to cross-reference the results here with the recent MyVoice survey I published yesterday on cinema attendance.
Research results
First, 700 of the sample of 1,064 people, or 65.8%, had been to the cinema at least once in the last year. These 700 people answered the following questions.
Q1: Before going to the cinema, from where do you obtain movie information? (Sample size=700, multiple answer)
Votes Percentage Television 413 59.0% Internet (to SQ) 361 51.6% Magazine 175 25.0% Newspaper 172 24.6% Hear from friends or family 142 20.3% Other 25 3.6% Don’t obtain information from anywhere in particular 33 4.7% Q1SQ: What sort of information do you obtain from cinema web sites? (Sample size=361, multiple answer)
Votes Percentage Cinema location, opening times, facilities information 231 64.0% Movie on screen, running times 223 61.8% Movie story 196 54.3% Movie trailers 140 38.8% Word of mouth review information 93 25.8% Promotional campaigns, free gifts and other events 85 23.5% Other 2 0.6% Q2: Where do you usually purchase cinema tickets? (Sample size=700)
Cinema 74.1% Mobile phone purchase or booking service 12.3% Discount ticket shop 6.4% Ticket Pia or other ticket agency shop 3.7% Other 3.4% This is a bit of a disappointing question as they do not differentiate between buying on the day or buying advance tickets at the cinema, which usually come with a 500 yen discount, a free gift, and can be used at other cinemas.
