Internet Explorer market share 70% in Japan
japan.internet.com recently published a short survey on the usage of internet tools at home. There is a fuller survey report available at a price. They interviewed just 300 internet users, equally split between male and female, aged between 20 and 49 from all over the country, on the 20th of December 2005.

Outlook Express 69.0% Netscape Messenger 1.3% Opera Mailer 0.3% Eudora 1.7% Becky! 4.0% Mozilla Thunderbird 3.7% Other 14.0% None or don’t know 6.0% Q3: What browser and mailer combination do you primarily use at home?
IE + Outlook Express 58.0% Firefox + Mozilla Thunderbird 3.0% Opera + Opera Mailer 0.3% Netscape + Netscape Messenger 1.7% Other 20.3% Don’t know 16.7%
