Having lived in Taiwan for 10 years I can tell you that locals dont often eat cornflakes for breakfast, rightly knowimg that it is not nutritious, they do eat chinese food, asian style creals and their own types of western style breakfast burgers and toast. However most taiwanese will not eat westerb food at other times and many never eat it at all! Taiwan is far less western in eating habits than Japan….which makes taiwans diverse array of restaurants pretty unique in Asia..Chinese, Japanese, southeast asian and then just a few western restaurants by percentage. Japan is far far more westernised in its eating habits..,coffeshops eveywhere even in smaller cities. There are few chinese restaaurants or southeast asian restaurants also.

Taiwanese women like foreign men, not just american…in fact many prefer europeans or koreans etc. however the vast majority are happy with their Taiwanese guys….
Taiwanese guys are not as controlling.

Its the same the world over, foreigners hold an attraction for locals…something exotic!

Different interpretation: older less desirable Japanese women who realize that they can’t get a good Japanese men are bitter and opt for a loserish White man.

Hey Robert, do you think that the “strange sex” NOBODY was talking about is something Japanese women like to do..or actually do because that is what society expects from them?
Never been to Japan but from all the media that lands on my lap from there it seems like everything is sexually driven. All the way from the news[newscasters are mostly female and "beautiful" because that's what attracts viewers? what happened to watching the news for news?] to a simple cartoon show meant for children[hard to find a decent cartoon these days that doesn't involved half naked women exposing themselves at every chance].
I’m not from there so maybe that is why I lack understanding but none of this can be healthy for a young girl who might believe this is how she must act.

How did you come up to this conclusion? White men were not asked any questions. Nor is this flasified, several other surveys had relativly the same answer.

Keith is looking at cultures from an Anthropologist view point….he post on what his experiences are/were and what he believes to be true. Those experiences are from the outside looking in with regards to a true relationship. I knew a white female once who took a class on how to cook soul food. She actually thought that she could tell me how to cook soul food and what soul food really was….I’m Black, everything I cook is soul-food by default. She has no real idea what soul food is, only what she has learned or observed from the outside. Keith was close when he made the assumption that Japanese women like white men because of the Hollywood image etc. but its really a little deeper than that and just as plain. Japanese women like most Asian women like white men because of the pre-concieved notion that white men are powerful, rich and educated. It is no secret that the white male has for the most part made his presence known around the globe. When Japan fought the US they knew it was the white man they were fighting, when rockets reach the moon it was the white man who was there, when every major even happens its the white man that is either leading it or has made it happen. So sub-consciously everyone knows that its the white man who has the most power on earth. Its just that simple. Now race aside who would not want to be with someone who is obviously on top of the world?

Being married to a Japanese woman, having Japanese relatives and friends puts me in a position that NO outsider will ever see, know or experience [at least from the Japanese]. This is because in Japanese culture it is normal to present yourself with at least two faces, the one in which family and friends see and know and that for outsiders. It permeates their culture on every level, whole vocabularies used daily are spoken ONLY to outsiders…that would be the desu, the ‘o’ at the beginning of some words etc. Working with a Japanese person or going to school with a Japanese person STILL does not grant you inside their inner circle and make you privy to their real thoughts, wants and desires. It takes years, even once you are married to one.
