Japanese women dream of the USA
DIMSDRIVE performed internet-based research involving 5,274 people in September of last year to find out which country’s citizens would people most want to marry. It is not stated whether or not the people interviewed were single or not.
The Asia versus the West split is quite noticeable in the men, but really striking amongst the women. I previously translated statistics regarding international marriages in Japan that shows that the ideals being expressed here do not seem to be realised.
On a slight tangent, I watched the last episode of an NHK English learning program which features an English-speaking Western blonde angel that prods a clueless office worker along the path to success at her job getting a date with her transferred from New York colleague, the ideal tall, muscular, tanned, well-coiffured white executive. The angel’s job was done because the glaikit Misaki finally pulled her man.

However for women there is a marked difference; about 74% in total choose the West (over 40% for the USA alone) versus a mere 7.4% for the East, a massive ten to one vote for Europe and the USA.
Next, looking at the detailed age breakdown, it’s only in the teenage girls group that the USA fails to top the charts, losing out to France and Korea, and equal with the UK. For men in their twenties, American women are preferred over the second-placed Korean women by almost 60%, and the Chinese are back in fifth, gaining just over a third of the number of votes of the USA. However, the older men get, the stronger the charms of the Asian neighbours become, with the gap at its smallest being just a mere three votes. Similarly, for men in their forties and over, Chinese women cut the gap from a third to about a half of the USA score.
For women, as they get older (ignoring the over sixty bracket which has a very small sample size, so may be rather inaccurate) the attraction to American men only get stronger; in their twenties, Americans get just under a quarter of the vote, but by their fifties, it surpasses three in ten. Despite the charms of the disturbingly Harry Potter-like Bae Yong Joon Korean men do not seem to be particularly favoured by the middle-aged demographic.
These two main trends noted above are perhaps reflections on Japanese society as much as on foreign stereotypes. The younger men hold images of themselves as charming the sophisticated Western woman, but as they age (and visit dodgy hostess bars…) they come to realise that perhaps only Asian women could accept their typical Japanese behaviour. For women, after having been around Japanese men for many, many years, they too may come to realise that the Western stereotypes of politeness and chivalry are the only things that could satisty them in marriage.
Bonus points if you can name the people pictured…

I think anyone would be upset and bitterly angry to be in a situation like VAJ. At the end of the day we have all pretty much strived for the same thing. Unfortunately, most people are the products of their environment. If someone threw sh*t in your face or stabbed someone you loved in your face and you smiled about it, its obvious you lack emotion or sense of being a human. I wouldn’t know which is stranger. But as it has always been, people need that person to stare, whisper or gossip about. I guess it makes them feel better about themselves.

When it comes to Japan and U.S., I sometimes don’t know who’s worse, the one giving or drinking the poison. In the U.S., the source of some of these toxics, one can see all the sh*t around em. Beautiful women dating other women, homos running rampant. Hell, I see more homos and lesbians than I see interacial relationships/marriages, and they have the nerve to still have “gay rights” activities…?? Women idolizing the “sex and the city” lifestyle religiously, having multiple partners.
And yet Japan wants to be so much like it. Check out Japan today, read some of the articles of the celebrities and you’ll find similarities. Some actress/model got banged up by some musician, i think the guy from dragon ash ( the K-fed and britney repeat ). And a while ago, there was some queer poppin his face up on the cover of Tokyo classifieds. It’s really sickning and I sometimes wish a meteor would come and do us all a big favor.
So, VAj, japan idolizes the U.S and its pop culture, blindly. If you are of the culture, your are literally in there. And u being black, I mean, dark skinned black, you don’t have a problem. She may not really love u, but who cares, you don’t have to stare at the walls alone anymore, right? You can finally be accepted. You don’t have to express your humanistic anger online anymore, you would be able to live your life. The life you deserve to live.

Sunset, I know that japanese idolize American pop culture. That makes it even harder for us since it is popular in the USA to despise Black folks. Japanese despise Black people for the most part as you have said before, sunset.
Sunset, the girl that showed me directions actually liked ROCK music. She was not a typical “kokujo” at all. She was cute, but I had more interest in Nori (you probably know the whole pizzeria story by now). Anyway, the night after, I was so depressed that I met up with the directions girl and nailed her. She was kinda cool, but she didn’t speak enough English (and it seemed like she just wanted to be knocked up so that she could get a free ride to the States; she was very excited when I told her that I’m from CA).

To everyone currently posting, You can’t save someone who isn’t willing to accept there saviors, who isn’t willing to change, or wanting to change for that matter.

Look the point im getting at is that a person won’t change unless they want to. We have all tried to change his opinion on races and it dosen’t have any affect on him some of these people here are even white,or mexican, or whatever here trying to change his closed way of thinking and broaden it. All we can hope is that some of this will soak through one day and if not for him maybe some other misguided person.

Excellent point. I cannot change your views either, nor can we change the racist views of the majority of non-Blacks. That is what I have really been trying to get at. That being stated, we as Black People must forge our own path and do for ourselves instead of relying on others. This is true on the individual and racial levels.

You are correct. It’s not just me though. We cannot change other peoples’ negative perceptions of us for the most part.
Race is more than color. Color isn’t the only physical attribute of race. There are also numerour other theories and definitions of race, but there are surely physical differences besides color alone.

IM not sure who was asking about HIP HOP CLUBS. But if you go to Tokyo, check a few place’s in Roppongi, although i don’t recommend it “Gas Panic” also “Club 88 or 99″ something like that. But one good club i went to was in Shibuya, a club called “Atom” somewhere in an alley near the 109 building. Its not a Hip-hop club, its 3 levels, each level place different music, hip hop is on the third floor. Its a nice club, i had lots of fun when i was there.

Okay Violent AJ your right WE as black people must forge a path for ourselves just like every other race has done, but wasn’t that done when Martin luther king, Malcom X, Harriet Tudman, and other great black leaders did when they were fightting for us. when i bough my first house i had to pay many tax and fix my beautifull house every years without been able save enough money for get a better car for work or travel and for 15 years i sacrifice and just in front of my house! those neigbor, they get a new car and plasma tv and they never do nothing on their appartment house and never work like i did because!!!! the government paid a subsidy for their brand new appartment + the maintenance was offered by the city + a parking spot free + money every month because they do not wanna work ect…

I was reading a work by Franz Fanon about blacks in africa and the Caribbean and he mentioned something that I feel can be related to that.
Basically it was something like the white men/women who idolizes and black men/women and has an obsession about him/her is as “sick” as the one who hates the black men/women.
Theses women are individuals with their own personalities, facial features, values, manners and preferences !! Not just PILE of hot/cute submissive,svelte, gracious, conservative and quiet asian CHICKS!

Lol! Nahh, im far from a pimp, its just easy and fun for me to make new friends. About that Roppongi morning vid, ya man, that shit was dirty as hell, felt like Japans ghetto. That vid was from the first time i went to roppongi though, so i was a little shocked in the moring when i could see all the garbage and stuff. But i do back there a few days afterward to go to Roppongi Hill Tower, not that place is nice, it redeemed Roppongi for me. Nice bars and restaurants, and the Tokyo city view was sick. Now this is an interesting subject.. I only first heard the term “japanophile” about 4 months ago when i was telling some1 about my up and coming trip to Japan. He asked me if i had ever been there, i said “no, this will be my first” Instantly he say’s “ahh, you ur a japanophile” As i said, i didnt know what it meant at first, but it sounded something close to pedophiles (or same idea) witch i took slight offense to.. Then went on to explain my interest in Japan and Asian cultures in a whole.
I absolutely hate when people call me $hit like blackaneese or wanna be Chinese, anything relative to that because im a black guy who likes oriental shit. Pisses me off the same way when people say “ur not black, you dont talk black” because i dont speak ghetto naturally, thats the most ignorant shit some1 can say.
Should i feel weird because i seek something foreign, interesting or compelling to me?? Hell no! So ya, i like martial arts movies (what guys does not?) ya, i like samurai swords, shirukens and Chinese stars (lots of people respect the beauty of these weapons) Ya, i used to watch dragon ball z way before it got big here in USA. So what?? Do i still watch anime?? No, i dont follow it anymore, but as an artist and animator, i will continue to respect it for the talent it takes to produce these things. Ya, i play video games, been playing since i can remember and i wont ever stop. I got into 3d animation because the love i have for video games and movies. People hear this and say “cartoons and video games.. aren’t those for kids?” Ya, some are for kids, mario, pokemon and shit like that, but c’mon think!! Kigs arent making these video games and cartoons, adults are, the age levels this games and cartoons are directed at varies.
So ya, i like learning Japanese and Chinese from people and from my own research, why?? because i wish my eyes were slanted?? No, because i like to be challanged, i like adding to my vocabulary no mater what language it is, i like to be different, unreadable,interesting, unexpected. I’m a suprize, im the hand up Mona Lisa’s skirt, they don’t see me coming. There are many things in this world that satisfy me, but none as much as crushing the typical black male stereotypes. So when im in the club here in the USA and i see a cute Asian girl, i have to go approach her. Why?? Because i only date and look for asain women? No, because i just wanna see the look on her face when i bust out my 2nd grade level Japanese/Chinese without even asking where she’s from.LOLOL Ive done this many times, especially in Jamaican clubs, and i tell you it never gets old. The look on their face is phuck’n priceless!
I like Asian girls, i have my reasons, but the bigest for me, is the eyes, they captivate me. But i sure as hell dont date them exclusively, i like all girls, i just have a preference, right now they are Black and Asian. My ideal woman ( as far as looks go) would be NAOMI CAMPBELL, perfect.. What irks me is that whenever I have dated and Asian woman, I have been accused of being some sort of fetishist. No one has accused me of that when I dated black, white or hispanic women.
